I have an Etsy shop!!
To say I'm proud of myself is a bit of an understatement, and yet I still have SO far to go in the world of Etsy. Just before Christmas I was designing a printable to help me to organise my life...Christmas presents lists, timings for the Christmas dinner itself, anything and everything I could think of. I was also busy designing and printing out beautiful quotes with handwritten fonts, which I was personally falling in love with one by one (isn't it hard to give away presents you fall in love with...is it ok to keep just one or two of them and find something else for the recipient!!)
I suddenly had a brainwave...why don't I design a trillion of these things - they were all floating around in my head anyway - and sell them to others to give them the same joy and encouragement and others get from them. It was a lightbulb moment and one I thought would lead to an easy start up, and even easier first sales. That is the slight preconception of Etsy shop owners! Now, don't get me wrong, from my hours of studying, reading and learning how to start and thrive as an Etsy shop owner, I have found that there are people who find a winning combination and start flying quite quickly. Sales seem to race into their inbox and the little Ching Ching cash register sound you hear when you make a sale, goes off so much they have to silence their notifications! That, sadly, has not been the case for me...so far!
I am not going to sit back and worry about it though, I am still busy learning. I am reading about SEO ratings, I am learning how to write blogs that link to Pinterest, that link to the rest of the world, and I am learning that there is a LOT more to this than I first thought. We may all have a good, no, great product we believe in, but that is only the start. I would love to hear from you if you have just started out on this journey too. The highs or lows you are finding as you learn more about this incredible platform, and any insiders tips you are willing to share! Hopefully you will see Uplifting Downloads (my shop), start to bud and bloom over the next few months, and then I am sure I will have many secrets I can share with you!
Thanks for coming on this journey with me, Lucy :)
